Light Up Every Room

Hello lovelies! I am so in love with today's outfit! Me wearing this outfit today was just strictly for outfit post purposes, but I do have several occasions already in mind that I'm going to wear this. One of which is this next weekend for one of my best friend's wedding!!
I was making my usual rounds through Modcloth's website (as I do every couple of weeks) filling my cart with items I never seem to get around to purchasing. But I saw this and knew I had to have it. Plus, it was on sale! (Still on sale actually, go check it out!!) Sometimes its just one of those signs you know you have to get it. The back of this dress is so pretty & unique. I don't own anything that has cut outs like this, I'm really liking it!
I had also been looking for a dress that was going to match my new burgundy velvet pumps from DSW and it goes PERFECTLY with it! I'm pretty ecstatic about the whole situation if I'm being quiet honest.

One thing I wasn't too happy with was the fact that the past couple of days have been incredibly cold and windy. So I was bracing the cold when I took off my jacket to take some of the photos above. Bring back the 70 degree weather!! I'm ready for spring!!

It's Always You | Contemporary Dance

Hello lovelies!
Every once in a while I will record a dance combination that I learned from a class to share with you all. I was a lot better at it last year and have been more on the slacking side this year with documenting some of my favorite combos that we have done.
This particular one was from contemporary class last night and is one of my all time favorites. It was very much an emotional dance. Shurelle (the choreographer) said, "This dance is to pull out any emotion you're currently feeling... So commit to it."
If I'm going to be completely honest though, I was incredibly happy during this time. But I wanted to commit to how the person in the song was feeling. So I pulled out the actors card and made a character who was going through the situation that the artist was singing. I felt it. It was wonderful and emotional and everything I hoped this would translate to be.

50's Inspired

Hello lovelies! To those who don't know, I am a lover of all things vintage. And in particular the 50's. The music, movies, decor, the perfect little diners I think every town is in need of more of. And of course, the fashion. This one is very much 50's school girl "I'm dating a football player and this is his letterman's jacket" inspired. (Though mine is from Forever21 and a small, but we're just pretending here haha)
I'm very much into inspired and styled shoots. Especially ones where I get to wear vintage things or a modern version of something you'd deem as retro.

What's your favorite decade or time where you like to draw fashion inspiration from? Let me know in the comments!

On Wallstreet

Hello lovelies! This past weekend I spent in Branson at the Hilton Convention Center for Hollywood Dance Jamz and had so much fun! The Hilton is such a beautiful hotel and was the perfect place to hold a convention. There was actually a soccer convention going on at the same time on the other side of the convention center which I thought was really cool! It was just across the street from The Branson Landing, so during the lunch breaks we walked over there to eat and to window shop a bit. It was freezing though since it was Branson in January so maybe I can go again and walk around more when it's not so cold! haha

I loved getting to see our dance company perform all their competition dances they've worked so hard on and they totally rocked it!! I had a fun time getting to see some old friends I don't get to see very often and all the other talent that was at the competition! Every time I go to a competition, show or watch dances on YouTube it just inspires me so much I just want to get up right then and there and go dance!
And might I just add how insanely proud I am of my younger sister Abby on her Musical Theatre Tap solo?? Because I am and she uploaded her dance ("On Wallstreet") on YouTube so YOU can go watch it and get just as hyped as we are!!
Now that I've expressed how excited and proud I am of all of the dancers, I'm going to move on to my outfit that I wore night 2 of competition.

This outfit was inspired by these BEAUTIFUL new shoes that I got from DSW. If I haven't expressed it enough, I am in love with the color burgundy. And these just take the cake. They are burgundy AND velvet. So lovely!
I tried to keep these shoes the highlight of this look so the top half of my outfit is very simple but still very put together. I'm wearing this blush lace cami that if I knew where it was from I would say but unfortunately I do not! :( Then of course, my ever so loved black leather jacket from TopShop.
I am wearing earrings with this look but you couldn't see them unless I pulled my hair behind my ear. And for a final touch I just have my favorite silver watch from Kohls.

Winter Floral

Hello lovelies! Today's outfit is another styled shoot. I absolutely love all the pieces from this look and we're so excited to get to put them on!
This red floral top is so stunning! I fell in love once I saw it and if y'all know me then you know I love my florals! And to keep me just a little bit warmer I'm wearing this super comfortable gray cardigan. I love it because it reminds me of all my favorite sweaters that I've had from over the years. Just gives you that cozy, comfortable feeling that we all want and need this time of year!
On the bottom I'm wearing some black zipper jeans and my black booties from Target!

For accessories I have on this gorgeous necklace & olive cross body bag that I'm wearing as a clutch.

Hoodie Love

Hello lovelies! Today's shoot is a favorite for me because it showcases two of the COMFIEST outfits I've probably ever put on.
Okay first of all... Hoodie dresses. Whoever came up with these is pure genius because I honestly didn't want to put anything else on after that I was just like, yep I'm good. haha! And with it being that time of the year where it's just blatantly cold all the time, these are a good essential to have. You could totally wear these with fleece lined tights or just as a really over sized hoodie with some jeans I think would be really cute!

When I first saw these I instantly thought "Zendaya". Because these are totally something she would rock, especially in her new clothing line which I adore! So of course I had to grab some inspiration from her and wear my black & red Air Jordan's with the black hoodie.

With the Olive hoodie I wore my burgundy over the knee boots. Which if y'all have seen some of my last posts you would know i'm pretty much obsessed with! And to tie that whole outfit together I paired this burgundy cross body with it. This outfit was perfect because the comfiness of the hoodie dress paired with the over the knee boots to keep your legs warm. Pure perfection. 10/10 highly recommend.

What are some of your winter outfit essentials/must haves? Leave them in the comments or Tweet them to me!

2016 RETROSPECTIVE

Hello lovelies! A few months ago I decided that I wanted to film a video reflecting on the things that I learned over the course of 2016 and I'm very glad that I did.
Each year that goes by we learn more and more about ourselves and how we want our lives to be. This year I learned a lot about mine.

*Thank you to Abby, Austin, Caleb & Gabrielle for being in this video.
*Also a big thank you to Austin Williams (@thebrickranger) for filming and directing this video!
